This lab involves developing a Simio model of a Subway® restaurant and using the model to analyze the performance of the system during lunch rush. The videos will guide you through:
- Building the model of the current policy in Simio
- Verifying the model
- Defining “Responses” for your experiment and interpret the resulting SMORE plots
- Modifying the model to allow passing
- Comparing the two policies
Related Lab Files:

Topics covered in this video:
– System description
– Multi-Place Mode to put multiple object instances of the same object definition in the model
Video 2: Current Policy, Model Verification
Topics covered in this video:
– Type-dependent processing time (using Empirical Discrete Distribution)
– Verification using animation and running in step mode
– Verification using queueing analysis
Video 3: Experiment Responses, SMORE Plot, Alternative Policy and Comparison
Topics covered in this video:
– Experiment Responses for Simio’s built-in statistics
– SMORE plot and its components
– Sampling error and confidence intervals
– Risk and percentiles
– Probabilistic routing using Weight Selection
– Comparing alternative policies/scenarios (without using Referenced Properties)
Is it possible to get Excel sheet used for model verification?
I have added related lab files to the labs.
